A Guide to Installing Air Conditioning in VanHomes

This video will provide you with all the necessary information for Installing an Air Conditioner in your VanHome.

Studio VanHomes

For a studio VanHome, the setup involves a specialized J box.

  • This box has separate inlets for air conditioning and power/lighting.
  • The wiring is already partially done, with wires running up to the switchboard inside the van, where an air conditioning circuit breaker is located.
  • The wires return to another J box, ready for your contractor to connect the air conditioning unit.
  • If we handle the installation, we'll place the inside unit, leaving the outside unit for your contractor to attach to the isolator switch.

Single and Double Expanding VanHomes

Similarly, for single and double expanding VanHomes, the process revolves around a junction box labeled "aircon."

  • Wiring runs from here to the switchboard and back down, where your contractor will connect the outside unit.
  • For those with electric hot plates, a separate power supply is provided. Inside the van, above the kitchen area, you'll find a switchboard with labeled circuit breakers for easy identification.
